And no: Gollum’s got nothing to do with it.
Minato is high school senior that is a member of his school’s orchestra. One day, on the way back from school, he hears the sound of a piano coming from a house and he is stunned by the beauty of its music. He keeps coming beack to listen until one day Mayue, the pianist and a music student, invites him. Their friendship blossoms until they rely absolutely upon each other. Then, Mayue is offered the opportunity to go and in Vienna – will he leave Minato behind?
This is an absolutely beautiful shounen ai, which certainly is worthy of reading more than once. Fans of Odagiri-sensei will find it interesting to see her earlier style and how its developed from My Precious in the mid-nineties, to Uragiri wa Bokku no Namae wo Shitteiru now. It’s a very sweet story that’s beautifully subsumed. My only gripe is that it’s far too short!
4.5 out of 5, too short! Stay tuned folks.
